Romeo and Juliet (with Lucie Riddell)

This episode of Miniature Literature we covered William Shakespeare’s classic play “Romeo and Juliet.” We had Lucie Riddell, the President of the BYU Shakespeare Society, discuss some of the major themes of this amazing play including the fickle nature of love and why Romeo and Juliet is a tragedy and not a romance. Take a listen and get ready for a handful of other episodes in the coming weeks, including “Memoirs of a Geisha” and some of our least favorite books of all time!

The Crucible (with Zachary Reinstein)

This week we discussed a terrific play by Arthur Miller, “The Crucible.” With the assistance of the eloquent Zachary Reinstein we covered the themes tackled by the play including the concept of “too much” morality and the way the play tackles the Red Scare and McCarthyism. Take a listen and come back next week as we discuss some of our favorite books with some of our favorite people.
